The next volume of the almanac "The Earliest States of Eastern Europe" is devoted to the problems of the formation of the Bosporus kingdom, founded by the ancient Greeks on the shores of the Kerch Strait, as well as general and special problems of Hellenism. These two circles of problems are closely connected with each other; moreover, the question of the emergence of Hellenistic relations in the Bosporus is one of the most controversial in historiography. The history of the Bosporus kingdom, which, having existed for more than 1000 years, is unique in the history of Europe in the ancient period, is studied in the volume on the basis of a wide use of archaeological, epigraphic, numismatic and literary sources. The fundamental questions of the genesis and development of Hellenism are the subject of consideration of the articles in the second part of the volume.
