Развитие культа св. Эдмунда в устной традиции и в агиографии
В данной статье рассматривается история возникновения и ранних этапов
существования культа св. Эдмунда, короля Восточной Англии, убитого
викингами в 869 г. Исследуется проблема формирования посвященной
ему традиции в устной среде и дальнейшего включения этой традиции
в агиографический текст — «Страсти святого Эдмунда» Аббона Фле-
рийского. Анализируется соотношение в данном источнике элементов
устной традиции и агиографического канона, предпринята попытка вы-
явления в тексте пластов, в которых нашли отражение различные этапы
развития культа св. Эдмунда.
