Abstract: The author deals with the theme “The Teutonic Order as a Religious Corporation” using the data of Chronicon terrae Prussiae by Peter of Dusburg, who showed the events as a special crusade, conducted with “spiritual weapons”. The article discusses material and spiritual culture of the Teutonic Order in Prussia to offer a comprehensive picture of religious life of the Order in Prussia, with its miracles and visions, “contacts” with Jesus and the Virgin, angels and demons, permitting to penetrate into some details of the Order’s spirituality, its identity and its brothers’ mentality.
