Abstract: The book under review is devoted to the time of action of the Icelandic family sagas and demonstrates how it is presented in them. Written down mainly in the thirteenth century, these sagas tell about the events of the “saga age”, a period from 930 to 1030. The anonymous author and “objective” narrator, who knows the story he tells from beginning to end, leads his listener/reader through all the vicissitudes of his story and immerses him in the temporal space of his narrative, the so-called “third time”, enabling him to judge life in the “saga age”.
