The Earliest States of Eastern Europe. 2006: Space and Time in Medieval Texts. Editor of the volume G.V. Glazyrina. Мoscow: Indrik, 2010

The 2006 volume of the almanac "The Earliest States of Eastern Europe" explores the perception of space and time, the interpretation and representation of these ideas in medieval written monuments belonging to different eras and cultural traditions. The published articles and reviews reveal the specificity of space modeling and chronologization of time, and pay special attention to the interaction of different systems of temporal and spatial coordinates: pre-Christian (pagan), medieval Christian and Muslim in their synchronous and diachronic aspects. The problems of spatial orientation, the principles of land description, the relationship between map and text, as well as ways of chronologizing history and combining different complexes of temporal representations within one work are analyzed.
