The next volume of the almanac "The Earliest States of Eastern Europe" is devoted to the topic "Diplomatic Practices of Antiquity and Middle Ages". In the articles of the volume, the customs and traditions of ancient and medieval diplomacy are analyzed on the example of specific historical studies. Much attention is paid to the history of the development of diplomacy in ancient Russia and its neighbors. Some of the articles are based on materials from the readings "Eastern Europe in Antiquity and the Middle Ages" dedicated to the centenary of the birth of Corresponding Member of the USSR Academy of Sciences Vladimir T. Pashuto and his scientific heritage. Finally, the materials of the volume include publications of newly translated historical sources into Russian.
